The driver of the car that collided with a tree in Gävle at the beginning of June was not under the influence of alcohol or narcotics at the time of the accident, the Prosecution Authority announces.
Two people died in the accident and another person was seriously injured. The driver, a woman in her 25s who was slightly injured in the collision, was arrested on suspicion of several crimes.
The initial suspicions of serious drunk driving have now been dropped.
However, the woman is still suspected of gross negligence in traffic, two cases of gross manslaughter, gross bodily harm and unauthorized driving. The woman lacked a driver's license.
The investigation continues with various technical examinations.
