The USA has entered the Olympic Games basketball tournament. The "Dream Team" is, as usual, the top favorite to win the Olympic gold, and in their opening match against the World Championship silver medalist Serbia, the Americans got a perfect start to the tournament.
The USA won the match 110–84 – largely thanks to the outstanding performance of veteran Kevin Durant, who hardly put a foot wrong in the match.
The 35-year-old, with three Olympic gold medals in his bag, scored 23 points in just over 16 minutes of play – the most points of anyone in the match.
The American team also features Olympic flag-bearer LeBron James, who is participating in his first Olympic Games since the London 2012 games.
Besides the USA and Serbia, the group also includes South Sudan and Puerto Rico. They met earlier on Sunday, with South Sudan winning the match 90–79.
