Quinn Hughes got off to a dream start with his new club. The defender scored his first goal for Minnesota in a 6–2 win over Boston.

The 26-year-old received a warm welcome during the warm-up and presentation, and when he scored his first goal for the club – 4-0 at the start of the third period – the noise level in the new home stadium became completely different.

I didn't expect those reactions, it was very special, says Hughes according to Aftonbladet .

This whole team is so impressive. Once I get used to it and get my legs going properly, this is going to be so exciting.

It was this weekend that Vancouver traded Quinn Hughes. The trade was described as a giant deal in the NHL as he left the Canadian club where he played for eight seasons since the American was selected seventh overall in the 2018 draft.

Hughes is seen as one of the best defenders in the league and has already been selected for the US Olympic team.
