The Swedish women's floorball team led 2–0 halfway through the game, after goals by Ellen Rasmussen and Evelina Petersson. Then Finland made a huge comeback and turned the game around to 3–2 in 2.5 minutes.
Before the period was over, Sweden was able to tie the score at 3–3, after a goal by Ellen Lundin.
The third period was scoreless and 3–3 stood at the final whistle.
Sweden has won nine consecutive World Cup gold medals and are big favorites in the tournament. The last time the World Cup was held, in Singapore 2023, Sweden won after defeating Finland 6–4 in the final.
In addition to Finland, Sweden has Poland and Slovakia in its group. Sweden next plays Poland, on Sunday at 8:00 PM.
