The match had barely started before Elfsborg broke free on the right wing. Frederik Ihler sent a perfect diagonal pass inward to Ari Sigurpálsson at the edge of the penalty area, who slotted home the lead.
However, AIK responded immediately.
Bersant Celina came forward on the left wing and delivered a perfect cross. At the far post, AIK talent Zadok Yohanna met the ball with his head and headed in the visitors' equalizer. At that point, the game had only been going on for just over nine minutes.
There were no further goals, and both teams appeared satisfied to share the points.
