”Loop” is a new dance performance developed for an audience with extensive intellectual disability.

The performance is a collaboration between Dramaten and two habilitation units at Sabbatsbergs hospital in Stockholm It gives patients the opportunity to experience performing arts that are adapted to their needs.

The performance takes into account what works stimulating and calming for the target group, and combines dance with tactile and repetitive movements. Björn Säfsten is responsible for the choreography and the dancer is Pär Andersson.

"Often, performing arts can strive to capture, create tension, or increase intensity, here I get to work with the opposite which feels very exciting and unusual", says Säfsten in a press release.

"Loop" will be performed at Sabbatsbergs hospital and at Unga Dramaten in April-March 2026.
