"It is with great sadness that we announce that Dennis Locorriere, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on May 16, 2026," a statement on Dr. Hook's official website reads.
The statement thanks "everyone who has supported Dennis during his journey."
Dennis Locorriere formed Dr. Hook in the late 1960s with Ray Sawyer, who passed away in 2019.
Dr. Hook had several big hits, including "Sylvia's Mother", "A Little Bit More" and "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman".
Locorriere also worked as a solo artist and wrote songs for artists such as Bob Dylan and Olivia Newton-John.
Dennis Locorriere was 76 years old.
