The Swedish artist was due to perform at the 90s Disco Show nostalgia festival in Riga in November.

Instead, he has been placed on a list of undesirable persons compiled by Latvia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Baltic Times reports.

The reason is that Dr. Alban “is connected to the Russian concert scene and has previously performed in the aggressor country.”

Dr. Alban performed on the occupied Crimean Peninsula in 2020, Expressen reported. According to Latvian media, he is also said to have performed in Russia in 2023, where he reportedly said that he “loves Russia.”

"I cannot comment on anything at this time because I have not received any information," he tells Expressen.
