Rob Bonta, California's top lawyer, is leading a group of twelve states that filed a lawsuit on Monday to stop Paramount's purchase of Warner Bros., CNBC writes.
“This illegal merger between these two entertainment giants would lead to higher prices, lower quality, and less content for film and television,” Rob Bonta said in a statement.
The deal between the two Hollywood giants is valued at more than $110 billion, or nearly SEK 1,100 billion.
The US Department of Justice has previously approved the purchase.
