Dozens of political prisoners released in Venezuela, human rights groups say

The total number of people released has not been determined, but two different human rights organizations in the country are reporting releases.

The information comes after Venezuela's interim president Delcy Rodríguez met with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN summit in New York. Rodríguez also said in her speech at the UN that Venezuela has begun a democratic transition.

The country's government has not commented on the releases.
