The military in Myanmar has killed at least 27 civilians and injured 30 others in an air strike against a village, according to an opposition group.
The attack took place in the village of Let Pan Hla in Singu district, about six miles north of Mandalay, the country's second-largest city, according to a spokesperson for the Mandalay People's Defense Force, which supports the country's main opposition.
Myanmar's military has not commented on the incident.
Since a military coup in 2021, Myanmar has been plagued by a violent civil war, where the junta regime is accused of gross abuses against the civilian population and battles rage between the regime and a range of armed resistance groups.
