30 people have died in several landslides in Indonesia. Several people are still missing and the search is continuing, the country's disaster agency BNPB announced.

The landslide, which occurred last week, was caused by heavy rains and destroyed at least 48 homes in the Banjarnegara district of Central Java on Saturday.

More than 700 people from the military, police, search teams and volunteers, as well as search dogs, have been sent to Banjarnegara, according to spokesman Abdul Muhari.

The annual monsoon season often brings landslides, flooding and water-borne diseases, and the national weather service has warned that more heavy rain is expected in several regions in the coming weeks.
