Down on Wall Street - heavy for technology companies

The broad S&P 500 index fell 1.4 percent, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index lost 2.2 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1 percent.

The technology sector had a rough time. Semiconductor giant Nvidia fell 4.2 percent, chipmaker Micron lost 13.2 percent, and fellow chipmaker Broadcom fell 3.1 percent.

SpaceX looked set to enter its fourth consecutive trading day of declines, but then turned around and rose 1.0 percent.

The dollar continued to strengthen. One US dollar cost 9.74 kronor in the evening.

The price of oil fell, and a barrel of North Sea oil cost around $77.
