It was a crazy drama that unfolded when Vegas won the third final game. There were four goals in just under six minutes, including a hat trick by Mitchell Marner. Add to that two disallowed goals.
There was no doubt that the middle period of the night belonged to Vegas.
The Carolina Hurricanes didn't give up and in the third period it was a completely different team on the ice. 4–0 became 4–4 and the game went into overtime. There, Shea Theodore stepped up, made it 5–4, and gave Vegas a 2–1 lead in the final series.
"We stuck together, told each other that we could still fix this and continued to play the way we should. I'm proud of the group," Shea Theodore said, according to Aftonbladet.
