There were plenty of references to Sweden and Scandinavia when Skarsgård hosted the thousandth episode of the classic comedy show. During the opening monologue, he said he used to watch it "from my igloo in Stockholm."
But Alexander Skarsgård wasn't the only one from the acting clan to participate. Recent Oscar nominee Stellan Skarsgård appeared in two of the sketches - both times as the father.
Alexander Skarsgård is the first Swede to host "Saturday Night Live", which has been broadcast on American television since 1975.
