On Wednesday, the company received the green light from the FAA, the US Federal Aviation Administration, for its application to use drones in its operations.
The company has previously developed pilot programmes for this in collaboration with several restaurants and hopes to be able to offer the service starting this fall.
However, the company writes in a press release that it still expects the majority of deliveries to take place in the traditional manner, especially large orders.
