City have major injury problems in defence. At the moment, the trio of Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and John Stones are missing. Guehi is a welcome addition.
It does, of course, come at a cost. City are paying around 260 million kronor for a player who would have been free in the summer.
Guehi, the Crystal Palace captain, was close to a move to Liverpool this summer, but that deal was called off at the last minute.
The centre-back is City's second signing of the winter transfer window. The club recently paid just over 800 million kronor for Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.
Manchester City are second in the Premier League, seven points behind Arsenal.
