A fan who was there to lay flowers reported that the star had been damaged. Among other things, Parton's name had been scratched off, according to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the tourist attraction.
Dolly Parton's star had previously suffered minor damage, but now the terrazzo and brass star has had to be replaced. According to TMZ, the repairs will be fully completed by Friday.
Dolly Parton died on August 25, at the age of 80. She received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1984.
