Rapper Eminem shares an encouraging message he received from Dolly Parton in 2022 after she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

"Getting letters from Dolly really affected me. She didn't have to take the time to do this. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every way. Rest in peace, Dolly. And thank you for the kind words," Eminem writes.

Beatles legend Paul McCartney, who collaborated with Parton in 2023, writes that "it's so sad" and that she was "such a wonderful woman."

"She was so bubbly and full of life that it's hard to believe she's gone. Her songwriting, her singing voice and her charity work were unmatched in the country music world, and it's hard to imagine living in a world without Dolly."

Actress Jane Fonda, who starred opposite Parton in the 1980 film "9 to 5," writes that she will be "woven into our lives forever":

"She had a survival instinct and always seemed to know what needed to be done, what needed to be said, to make things right... to simultaneously stick her butt out the car window and moon Kenny Rogers' house. She was the curvy embodiment of empathy."

Global star Taylor Swift emphasizes that Parton's imprint on the world "will last forever."

"Dolly gave us someone to look up to while encouraging us to be ourselves. Somehow she managed to teach us lessons about the world in a way that was both gentle and honest, and often very funny," she says in a statement to several American media outlets.

Country artist Billy Ray Cyrus has also collaborated with Dolly Parton many times.

“I'll never forget when I went into her dressing room in 1992 to apologize for the tabloids claiming I was having an affair with her. In true Dolly fashion, she just looked at me, winked and said, 'Darling, this shit sells records!'”

Parton was also godmother to his daughter, pop star Miley Cyrus.

"I can't believe we just lost the purest of souls. Rest in peace, Dolly. My heart aches," she writes.

Singer Linda Ronstadt, who collaborated with Parton:

"I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend Dolly Parton. One of the most incredible musical experiences I have had is recording with her. The world is poorer without her."

Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger:

"What a wonderful songwriter and singer Dolly was. She brought so many people together, we will all miss her so much."

Elton John:

"Shocked and devastated by Dolly's passing. A giant as an artist - unique and irreplaceable, with the biggest heart."

Beyonce:

"It is an honor to have had the privilege of working with you. I will cherish that forever. Thank you for the great impact you have made on the world. You are an angel who has made this world a better place because of your joyful art."

Country artist Kacey Musgraves:

"The world suddenly feels a lot less glittery."
