"This is a very difficult post for me to write. I wanted to wait until after my 'grandma's' funeral took place yesterday before I tried to put all of this into words," Lainey Mae Parton wrote in an emotional post following the memorial service on Friday, days after Dolly Parton died at the age of 80 on August 25.
According to Page Six, a dozen of Dolly Parton's grieving relatives gathered at her gravesite at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville on Friday morning. The family had previously said that Parton had wanted a small, private ceremony for her loved ones.
Parton is buried next to her husband of 58 years, Carl Dean, who died last March at the age of 82.
