A 45-year-old woman bled to death after being attacked by her girlfriend's dog. The dog's owner is now being charged with manslaughter in Gothenburg District Court, reports Expressen.

The incident occurred in the evening in an apartment in April 2024.

According to the accused woman, who is 25, the dog attacked after the couple started arguing. She states that she helped the injured woman to the bathroom and called the police.

But according to the police investigation, she was in contact with SOS Alarm several times during the night and morning and initially did not let the responding ambulance personnel enter.

During questioning, the 25-year-old woman said her memories were vague because she had been under the influence of drugs. When police and paramedics finally arrived, the woman was dead, with “half her face torn off,” according to the doctor who pronounced her dead.

The dog was later euthanized. The dog owner is also charged with causing bodily harm after a later incident in which her dogs bit a person.
