The Dockworkers' Union has carried out various strikes in recent weeks to, among other things, get a stronger protection for elected representatives and rejected the mediators' latest offer.

Trade unions and employers will meet with the mediators again on Thursday. According to the Mediation Institute, however, it is the Transport Workers' Union collective agreement with the employer Swedish Ports that applies.

They have received very clear signals that it is the Transport Workers' Union agreement that is the primary agreement. That is what applies and you cannot negotiate anything additional through mediation with the Mediation Institute, says Director-General Irene Wennemo to Ekot.
