Tonight's attacks saw Russia launch nearly 540 drones, eight ballistic missiles and 37 other types of missiles at Ukraine, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyj.
In Zaporizhzhia, at least one person was killed and nearly 30 more were injured, including several children, when a five-story building was hit in tonight's Russian attack.
"Once again, it was an ordinary apartment building", notes Zelenskyj on X.
According to the newspaper The Kyiv Independent, 40 houses, 14 apartment complexes and a number of industrial properties were damaged in the attack on Zaporizhzhia, which is located in southeastern Ukraine.
Attacks are also being reported from, among other places, Dnipro and Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
"The region is under massive attack. Explosions are heard", wrote Governor Serhij Lysak on Telegram during the night.
Dnipropetrovsk has since Russia launched its large-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 been relatively spared from intense fighting. Kyiv acknowledged, however, this week that Russian forces had entered the region, which Russia had previously stated.
During the night towards Saturday, Ukraine has simultaneously launched an attack on oil refineries in Russia, according to a commander to The Kyiv Independent. It is reportedly about facilities in the regions of Krasnodar and Samara.
