Djurgården's profile was forced to end his career due to concussion problems in 2022, but in May it was announced that he would make a sensational comeback.
Josefson had a trial contract with Djurgården, but on Monday evening the club announced that the parties had written a permanent contract for the coming season.
"This is incredibly gratifying for both Djurgården and for Jacob. His attempt to return to hockey has succeeded and the entire Djurgården family will get to see when a great athlete is given a second chance", says Niklas Wikegård, sports manager in Djurgården.
Jacob Josefson played his last SHL match on January 19, 2021, when he had to interrupt a match against Rögle after a blow to the head.
A little over a year later, he announced that his career was over.
Josefson has worked as an expert commentator in Viaplay in recent years and last season also had a role as assistant sports manager in Djurgården.
SHL starts on September 13 and Djurgården, which is a newcomer, starts at home against Skellefteå.
