Djurgården Triumphs to Semifinals Despite Key Injuries

There was jubilation after Djurgården's advancement to the semifinal in the Conference League. But the team also suffered two heavy injuries in the quarterfinal return match against Rapid Wien. It doesn't hurt that much, but it's a fracture. I don't really know what it means, says Oskar Fallenius to Aftonbladet.

Fallenius and Nino Zugelj were forced to substitute early due to injuries in Thursday evening's match in Vienna. After the 4–1 victory, both players had their foot in a cast and were walking on crutches, reports Aftonbladet.

Otherwise, the roof was lifted off at Djurgården after the historic advancement to the semifinal in the Conference League, the third-ranked club tournament in European football.

Goalkeeper Jacob Rinne described the victory as "maybe the biggest the club has ever experienced". He counted on a little celebration afterwards, despite Gais waiting in the Allsvenskan already on Monday.

We should celebrate something like this. It's clear we shouldn't forget the next match, but such an achievement must be celebrated, anything else is a shame, he says to Aftonbladet.

Djurgården will host Chelsea at the 3 Arena on May 1 and the return match will be played a week later at Stamford Bridge. In the other semifinal, Real Betis and Fiorentina will meet.
