Djurgården to the SHL playoffs after a huge turnaround

For a long time, it looked like Djurgården would have to keep fighting for a place in the playoffs and the round of 16.

Already secured a playoff spot, Växjö pressed on, scored and took a 4-2 lead heading into the third period.

Then the home team, Djurgården, woke up in a big way.

Four straight goals in the third period secured a second straight victory and a place in the playoffs.

Norwegian Havard Salsten became the match hero after scoring the important 4–4 goal on the power play and then deciding the match with a 6–4 empty-net goal.

Timrå, Örebro, Linköping and Leksand are now fighting for the last playoff spot. There are two rounds remaining.
