It had already been clear that Leksand's top scorer in the regular season (26 points in 51 games) would leave the club after the SHL exit. On Saturday, it became official that Djurgården, the club Vejdemo played for as both a junior and a senior, would be his next club.
"I'm extremely happy to be back at Djurgården. It was at Djurgården that my career began, and I have many wonderful memories from my years here," says the 30-year-old center in a statement on the Stockholm club's website.
Leksand will not play in the Swedish Hockey League next season after losing the relegation qualifier against HV71 a month ago.
