Djurgarden profile leaves for Division 1

Magnus Eriksson recently got rid of the captain's armband in Djurgården. And now he's leaving the club – for FC Stockholm in Division 1. For a long time, I haven't been 100 percent satisfied with coming to work, even though I've tried to do my best every day, says the 34-year-old to Sportbladet.

In FC Stockholm, he is reunited with Rickard Norling, twelve years after they fought together in Malmö FF in 2013.

It's going to be extremely fun with this adventure. I'm looking forward extremely much to getting there and contributing as the football player I know I can be. The whole project appeals to me extremely much, even though a lot will be different from what I'm used to from my time in Djurgården, says Eriksson.

The move to Division 1 comes a few days after Eriksson was stripped of the captain's armband in DIF, in favor of Jacob Une after a vote among the players.

It's clear that there are extremely many emotions involved. Somewhere in this process, I've prepared myself for what might come. So I feel quite calm, peaceful and secure in an extremely sad and sorrowful decision.

Magnus Eriksson has made four international appearances for Sweden and also has a past in clubs such as Åtvidaberg, Gent, GZ Rehne (China), Bröndby and San Jose.
