Soccer Allsvenskan Djurgården's long-time chairman Lars-Erik Sjöberg is stepping down from his post, which he has held since 2013. Sjöberg became a part of the board as early as 2007.
"Under his leadership, the association has strengthened its position in Swedish soccer through significant sporting successes, strong economic stability, and organizational development", writes Djurgården on its website.
Vice chairman Erik Gozzi is taking over as acting chairman until the next annual general meeting.
On Thursday, Djurgården's men play the first semifinal match at home against Premier League team Chelsea in the Conference League.
