Djurgarden Captain Leaves for AIK

Matilda Plan has during the season been team captain for Djurgården in the women's top division. Now she is clear for a new club: arch-rival AIK. "I'm psyched to get started", she says to the club's website.

Matilda Plan was on an outgoing contract with Djurgården, despite being team captain during the 2024 football season.

"We entered the situation with trust and ambition to extend the agreement", says Djurgården's sports manager Jean Balawo to the club's website.

It didn't turn out that way, and now the 26-year-old is clear for another club in Damallsvenskan. But she probably won't have to look for new housing.

Plan has namely signed with arch-rival AIK.

"AIK finished the season strongly and I hope to be able to help the team build on that and take the next step both individually and with the team", she says to Solna's website.

The contract is written over the 2026 season.
