Novak Djokovic is in the midst of trying to grab his 25th Grand Slam title in Australian Open. At the same time, the superstar is now proposing that the product tennis should be fundamentally changed to attract more young people.
One of the proposals that the Serb wants to introduce is more entertainment, where he mentions "fine dancers", similar to the American sports leagues NFL and NBA.
"For example, why can't we do something between sets? Like at Super Bowl or in NBA? When there's a break, they have dancers who come in and do all sorts of things. I wouldn't have had anything against it", says Djokovic and continues:
"Nice dancers for a few minutes, so that there are more breaks so I can calm my nerves and think about something else. I think it would have added more fun and entertaining elements to tennis, which is otherwise quite traditional and conservative in many parts."
Djokovic proposes that the changes should take place in all competitions except one: Wimbledon.
"There, I wouldn't have changed much. It's so unique as it is. Strawberries and cream, only white clothes and everything else about Wimbledon is already so elegant and stylish. But everywhere else, I'm in favor of gradually changing. But first, introducing dancers."
