Zverev started strongest, but after losing the first set, Djokovic showed why he is considered the greatest player of all time on the men's side.
The win means that the 38-year-old Serb's pursuit of a 25th Grand Slam title, a feat no one on either the men's or women's side has managed, is still alive.
In the semifinal, he will face world number one Jannik Sinner.
Jannik is in fantastic form and he has been the best player in recent years. Playing a Grand Slam semifinal against a world number one, there's nothing bigger. I will do my best to step up and perform as well as I did tonight, said Djokovic.
The two have met eight times before and have won four matches each. Sinner has, however, won the last three meetings – Djokovic has not managed to beat the young Italian since the ATP final in Turin 2023.
