Tennis star Novak Djokovic is withdrawing from the ATP Finals in Turin, the 38-year-old announced shortly after winning his 101st title on the tour.

On Saturday afternoon, Djokovic defeated Lorenzo Musetti 2–1 in sets in the final of the ATP tournament in Greece.

The final victory was the Serb's 101st on the tour, which means he now has eight fewer than Jimmy Connors, who has the most titles on the men's side.

But the same Musetti now gets the chance to play in the tour's playoffs, which begin on Sunday.

"Lorenzo Musetti will compete in the ATP Finals for the first time since Novak Djokovic withdrew due to a shoulder injury," the tournament said in a statement.

World number one Jannik Sinner is the reigning champion in the playoffs.
