Novak Djokovic impressed as he won his second-round match at the Australian Open in straight sets. It was Djokovic's 399th win in a Grand Slam match.

Novak Djokovic defeated Italian Francesco Maestrelli 6–3, 6–2, 6–2.

In Melbourne, Djokovic hopes to secure a 25th Grand Slam title. If successful, it would end a two-year Grand Slam drought. Since winning the 2023 US Open, Djokovic has seen his younger rivals Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner seize all the top titles.

In the next round, Djokovic will face either Botic van de Zandschulp of the Netherlands or Shang Juncheng of China.

The 38-year-old Djokovic could record his 400th win in Grand Slam competition.
