Novak Djokovic has dropped from fifth to 12th in the latest world rankings, marking the first time since 2002 that neither he, Roger Federer nor Rafael Nadal - the trio that dominated tennis in the 2000s - are in the top ten.
Both Federer and Nadal have ended their elite careers, while Djokovic - the all-time leader with 24 Grand Slam singles titles - continues to play. At the recently concluded US Open, the 39-year-old Serb was knocked out in the first round, his earliest exit from a Grand Slam tournament in 20 years.
Italian Jannik Sinner is world number one, with newly crowned US Open champion Alexander Zverev of Germany in second place.
