Superettan side Falkenberg were heavy favourites going into the match against IFK Skövde, who play in Division 2, for a place in next year’s Swedish Cup group stage. The away team also took the lead in the 41st minute.
But Skövde were able to quickly equalise, and the score remained 1-1 until the 90th minute.
In extra time, Falkenberg took the lead again early, but in the second half of extra time, Skövde equalised again, and the match had to be decided on penalties.
The home team won the penalty shootout, and Skövde will now take part in the cup group stage. The team is third in Division 2 Norra Götaland.
