Södertälje will have to do without Evan Weinger in the seventh and decisive semifinal against Djurgården in the Hockeyallsvenskan playoffs.
The 27-year-old American is suspended for two matches for his head tackle on Jakob Ragnarsson in Thursday's meeting (8–3 to Djurgården), announces Hockeyallsvenskan on its website.
Weinger was given a match penalty for the offense and will now miss both the semifinal decider at Hovet in Stockholm on Saturday, as well as a potential first match in the finals – if Södertälje makes it that far.
In addition to the suspension, Evan Weinger will have to pay a fine of 2,650 kronor.
