"Koka björn" is the first Nordic drama series that the large American company produces for its streaming service. Mikael Niemi's book with the same name is the basis for the project.
Gustaf Skarsgård plays the priest Lars Levi Læstadius who, together with the Sami boy Jussi, investigates a mysterious death in the summer of 1852.
Then there is also the Northern and the religion and the priest and his revival movement in this universe. But it's the detective puzzle that drives the story forward, Gustaf Skarsgård told TT when the project was launched two years ago.
Now Disney+ is releasing the first images from "Koka björn" and announces that it will premiere on October 15. All episodes will be released at the same time. The series will also premiere on that date on the TV channel Hulu in the USA and on Disney+ in the rest of Europe.
Emil Karlsen plays the boy Jussi and in other roles, among others, Ane Dahl Torp, Pernilla August, Jonas Karlsson, and Simon J Berger can be seen.
"Koka björn" is directed by Trygve Allister Diesen based on a script by Jesper Harrie.
