In a joint press release, the companies write that the collaboration puts fans' creativity at the centre and "opens doors for the next generation of creators."
Clips from films like "Star Wars," "Toy Story," and the Marvel universe will now be able to appear in videos, which can also be shared on Disney's short-form video platform Verts.
“The best storytellers are, first and foremost, the fans,” said Asad Ayaz, chief marketing and brand officer at The Walt Disney Company, in a press release.
No financial details of the agreement have been disclosed. The idea is to test the collaboration in the US over the coming months before rolling it out more broadly.
