Hammarby got off to a good start in the final return leg, after a 0–1 loss at home last Saturday.
But a few minutes later Häcken were 2-0 up after two goals from top scorer Felicia Schröder.
It's a sad start. We obviously wanted to keep the game alive as long as possible and then they went 2-0 up, says Alice Carlsson.
It's not what we had planned or wanted.
Despite the setbacks, Hammarby reduced the deficit and then managed to equalize at 2–2.
But then Felicia Schröder reappeared and scored her third goal of the evening.
You feel empty; it's bleak. It's a huge disappointment, of course, not to win the gold, says Alice Carlsson.
This will take a long time to digest.
