Almost 40 years after she made her way out of the corner and into film history, "Baby" Houseman is about to lace up her dancing shoes again.

Lionsgate Films has confirmed that a sequel to the 1987 film "Dirty Dancing" is in the works. Jennifer Grey will reprise her role as Frances "Baby" Houseman. The film is scheduled to begin shooting later this year.

However, fans are not positive about the news and question how a Dirty Dancing 2.0 will work without Patrick Swayze. The actor died of pancreatic cancer in 2009.

"Patrick has passed away; may 'DD' rest in peace with him," one fan wrote on social media, calling the idea "bad."

Despite a modest budget and lukewarm reviews, "Dirty Dancing" became a box office success and is considered to have been a pioneer in its handling of hot issues such as abortion, gender stereotypes and class prejudice.
