The Ethiopian athlete Diribe Welteji risks being stopped from competing in the World Championship in Tokyo, reports Aftonbladet. This because she has not been available for doping tests in Ethiopia before the competition.
Ethiopia's national anti-doping organization has acquitted the athlete. The decision has however been appealed by the anti-doping organization Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU), which wants to see an investigation by the sports arbitration court before she competes again.
The Ethiopian athlete took silver on 1,500 meters during the World Championship in Budapest and is one of the favorites for Saturday's 1,500-meter competition.
