A judge in New York has decided that Toback is liable for damages to the women.

The allegations against Toback surfaced for the first time in 2017, when 38 women in an article in the Los Angeles Times accused him of assault. Thereafter, another 200 women came forward with similar stories, including Julianne Moore and Selma Blair.

Toback is, among other things, alleged to have offered film roles in exchange for sexual favors and masturbated in front of the women. He himself has strongly denied all allegations and claims that he is the victim of a conspiracy.

Toback has been making films since the 1970s and was Oscar-nominated in 1991 for the screenplay of "Bugsy".
