Dina Powell McCormick's appointment is another sign of Meta's rapprochement with the Republicans after Trump's return to the White House.

Powell McCormick served as Deputy National Security Adviser to Trump from 2017 to 2018. She is married to Senator Dave McCormick, a Republican from Pennsylvania who took office in January.

He's a good man, Trump said about McCormick last year, according to AP.

Powell McCormick and her husband were last photographed in March together with Trump and Tesla's CEO Elon Musk, one of the president's close allies, at a sports event in Pennsylvania.

Powell McCormick was also Deputy Secretary of State under Condoleezza Rice in President George W Bush's administration.

Early in January, Meta announced that Dana White, CEO of the MMA organization UFC, will become a new member of Meta's board. He has close ties to Trump and campaigned intensively for him ahead of the presidential election.
