The artist Sean "Diddy" Combs has been forced to return the key to the city to the Mayor of New York.
This is since CNN published a surveillance film in May showing Combs assaulting his ex-girlfriend and artist Casandra "Cassie" Ventura in a hotel corridor in 2016.
Combs returned the key to his hometown last week. This was after Mayor Eric Adams demanded it back in a letter, explaining he was "deeply shaken" by the attack, according to official sources.
Combs was awarded the honorary award as recently as last September. At the ceremony, the mayor then declared that the "bad boy of entertainment" was getting the key to the city from the "bad boy of politics".
Since then, several women and one man have accused the music mogul of serious sexual assaults and trafficking. Combs denies most of the allegations, but has admitted to and apologised for the filmed assault of Cassie.
