A convicted man who was to report to serve his sentence has escaped with the help of relatives during a visit to Karolinska Hospital in Huddinge. The incident occurred shortly after 1 pm on Thursday.
He was at the hospital accompanied by a guard. In connection with this, relatives of the man allegedly came and hit a guard, and then managed to take the man with them, says police spokesperson Anna Westberg.
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of hitting the guard. The fleeing man is still at large. According to the police, he was convicted of several offenses, including traffic crimes. A police hunt is now underway for the man.
There are reports that they left by taxi. We are reviewing surveillance cameras and conducting interviews now, says Anna Westberg.
