Witkoff and Kushner recently returned to the United States after visiting Moscow where they met with Russian President Vladimir Putin for nearly five hours.
US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he believes Putin wants to end the Ukraine war. The statement came despite signals from Russia indicating no breakthrough after the talks – parts of the peace proposal are said to not “suit” the regime in Moscow.
