Ukraine has carried out a drone attack on an oil refinery in Kstovo in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region, about 500 kilometers east of Moscow, the Kyiv Independent reports, citing Russian sources on Telegram.
Content posted on Telegram accounts in Russia shows explosions and flames at what is believed to be a facility owned by Russian oil company Lukoil.
Russian authorities also claim parts of a downed Ukrainian drone partially destroyed an oil pipeline in Primorsk, south of Vyborg, AFP reports.
The attacks come as Ukraine's allies have urged Ukraine to hold off on attacks on Russian energy facilities, Bloomberg reports. The overnight attacks on Russia have not been confirmed by Ukraine.
