According to Bunkered, Stenson has paid a fine of just over one million pounds, equivalent to just over twelve million kronor, to be able to return from the controversial LIV tour.
The 49-year-old Stenson had a tough season on the LIV tour and finished only in 52nd place in the final standings, meaning he was eliminated from the tour.
Henrik Stenson moved to the money-making LIV tour – which is funded by Saudi Arabia – in 2022 and then lost the role of team captain for Europe's Ryder Cup team.
His last competition on the European Tour, the DP World Tour, was in 2023 and in the same year Stenson resigned from his membership in the tour.
