Uppsala University Hospital denies reports that a fifth person is suspected of having been poisoned.

Four people are suspected of having been poisoned and the police are investigating the matter as attempted murder.

SVT Uppsala reported on Tuesday morning that a fifth person was suspected of being poisoned and had similar, but milder, symptoms, according to reports. But that is not true, according to the hospital.

No, I can deny that there is no fifth case in this matter, says Viktor Ekström, security manager at the hospital, to Expressen .

This information is also denied by the prosecutor in the case, Emma Häggström.

I am aware of the information about a possible fifth plaintiff, but we are investigating four, there have been no further reports, she tells TT.

The first person to be affected fell ill on October 25. A week later, on November 3, two more people fell ill. All three were in intensive care. On Monday, the prosecutor announced that a fourth person is also suspected of having been poisoned and that the cases are linked.

We are now awaiting information from the analyses that have been done, but I cannot say anything about the time horizon there. In parallel, we are carrying out some investigative measures, says Emma Häggström.

There is no suspect in the case.
